
Mae Marybelle Devore was the eldest child and only daughter of Lawrence Earlen Devore and Lillian Belle Lewis. The family lived in the St. Louis Park, MN, area where Mae graduated from high school in 1926. Mae’s paternal ancestors have been traced back to the Revolutionary War. Her maternal ancestors include Civil War heroes from Wisconsin and Ohio. Mae married Earl Frederick Burton in 1931 and the two resided in St. Louis Park, MN. They had five children: Richard (Dick) Earl Burton, Robert (Bob) Lewis Burton, Ronald (Ron) Burton, Janice Mae Burton and Jon Lawrence Burton.
